Brandon Jones to join JR Motorsports in 2023

Renowned driver Brandon Jones announced on his social media pages that he will represent the NASCAR Xfinity Series next year behind the wheel of the #9 Chevrolet for the JR Motorsports team. Noah Gregson will leave that team to join the Petty GMS Motorsports Cup team next year.

Brandon currently competes for the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing team, where he has been since the 2018 season. Prior to that, he spent two years with Richard Childress Racing. His team says Jones is a strong contender and a great addition to JR Motorsports. He brings a lot of experience and will now race No. 9. Jones, who is back with Chevrolet, has one win, five top-five finishes and nine top-10 finishes this season in his fight for a playoff spot.

“It’s really impressive to see how competitive JRM has been over the years,” Jones said in a press release. “They threaten to win every week and are one of the best teams in our series. I am very grateful to Dale (Earnhardt Jr.), Kelly and Mr. Hendrick for allowing me to be a part of this team.”

“I’m also excited to be reunited with Chevrolet. They played a big role early in my career, and I look forward to building on that relationship and getting behind the wheel of the 2023 Camaro.”
